about morning brew co

The specialty coffee shop and working bakery on Cambridge Square, and the story of why it exists. It begins in Ohio, passes through Portland, Oregon, and arrives at a simple idea: the best part of coffee is the people around it.

Denis, and the reason for the early starts

Morning Brew Co. is a coffee shop and scratch bakery built on a simple belief, the cup is not the point, it is the conversations the cup makes room for.

That belief came out of the time I spent in Portland, Oregon, watching a whole community organize itself around coffee, shop after shop, morning after morning. What stayed with me was never the drink. It was what gathered around it.

So we set out to build a place worth gathering in. Always with the intention to source locally, from our beans to our milk to the merch shelves. Bagels, crepes and pastries made by hand in the back before the doors open. A room made for staying rather than passing through.

That is the whole idea, and everything we do comes back to it, whether you are grabbing a croissant on the way to work, catching up with a friend, or booking our cart for your wedding. We are trying to do one thing well. Give people a reason to slow down, share and enjoy a moment over something made with care.

The mission asks you to pause, so we built a room worth pausing in, and filled it with people who are glad you came.
